14th Environmental Conservation Engineering Conference was held on 4th and 5th September, 2014

14th Environmental Conservation Engineering Conference (organized by the Society of Environmental Conservation Engineering, co-organized by Graduate School of Engineering, Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies and CoHHO Unit) was held at Research Building No.3 and No.4 at Kyoto University on 4th and 5th September.  On the first day (4th September), participants had a study tour “Historical tour of Kyoto and Shiga, World Heritage and Water Environment Management of Lake Biwa” to Amagase Dam, Aqua Biwa museum, Erosion Control Works (Oranda Dam) and Lake Biwa.  On the second day (5th September), there were 47 oral presentations on water environment, water treatment, solid waste, global environment, energy, environmental economic / policy, hazardous micro pollutants, soil, ground water.  In addition to it, 13 hybrid presentations (oral and poster presentation) were carried out.  The number of participants was 110.  Prof. Shinichi FUJITA gave special presentation “trans-boundary pollution in East Asia for 30 years and future”.
