The 60th Anniversary Ceremony of HUST and Recognition Award for Outstanding Contribution to HUST(Oct. 14-15, 2016) by Shigeo Fujii, Professor, GSGES

A Vietnam short-term study tour for high school students was conducted by ELCAS (Experienced-based Learning Courses for Advanced Science) under the coordination of GSGES. Twelve high school students joined in this tour, and visited South and Middle Vietnam from August 10 to 17, 2016. The students learned many things in Vietnam such as history, culture and environment through visit to the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Ming City, Vịnh Mốc tunnels in DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), a minority’s commune in Hong Ha, Tam Giang Lagoon and so on. During the tour, the students conducted water quality measurement of pH, conductivity, hardness, residual chlorine, and coliform group by potable meters, pack test kids, and bacteria test papers in several samples from rivers, and tap waters. In addition, students of Quoc Hoc High School in Hue joined their tour, and deepened their friendship, exchanging their knowledge. In the last day of the tour, Japanese students gave presentations on their tour experiences in English in front of many students at Quoc Hoc High School High.
