Kyoto University – Tanabe High School Collaborative Seminar on “Learning local agriculture and livelihood through farm experience and exchange” was conducted on JUne 21 – 22 in Shirahama town and Tanabe city, Wakayama prefecture. 9 International and 4 Japanese students from GSGES, 8 students from Tanabe high school, and 5 faculty members from both schools joined the program and enjoyed various programs including plum harvesting with farmers, studying about farm management and product processing, lectures on Japanes agriculture and plum production, lecture and aquariam visit at KU Seto Marine Biological Laboratory, and international dinner for which everyoned joined cooking. The two-day seminar was concluded by group discussions and presentations, with a number of findings and good exchange among students.
