From October 27 to 30, JGP (Top Global University Project “Japan Gateway : Kyoto University Top Global Program”) Program Assistant Professor Yuki Okamoto and an administrative staff from GSGES visited 5 Universities in Vietnam: Pham Khac LIEU (Lecturer), Le Van TUAN (Vice Dean of Department of Environmental Science), Nguyen Ngoc TUNG (Vice Dean of Department of Architecture) of College of Science, Hue University, Le Van AN (Rector), Tran Thu HONG(Assoc. Prof.), Ngo Tung DUC (Lecturer), Vu Tuan MINH (Lecturer), Nguyen Phi NAM (Lecturer) of Hue University of Agriculture and Forestry, Hoang HAI (Director) of The University of Da Nang, Tran Van QUANG (Dean, Faculty of Environment) of University of Da Nang, University of Science and Technology, Huynh Trung HAI (Dean), Nguyen Pham Hong LIEN (Lecturer) of Ha Noi University of Science and Technology.
They discussed and welcomed the progress of our collaborative activities between GSGES, Kyoto University and each University such as internship program, student international exchanges, and also reaffirmed our commitment to cooperation in terms of research and education. In addition, the information of GSGES international symposium, GSGES international workshop held in Kyoto University in this coming December and Spring School in next February 2016 was provided. All universities showed great interests in these events especially Spring School and promised to cooperate on open recruitment for Spring School.
During the stay, they also visited the GSGES Kyoto University office in University of Da Nang, University of Science and Technology and Ha Noi University of Science and Technology. They had an opportunity to meet 2 master students from GSGES who are staying in Hanoi for research survey and got explanation about the experimental facility and a life in Vietnam.
