Call for participation in the Kyoto University Junior Campus (International Students)

Dear International Students of GSGES

 

GSGES will hold a special lecture for junior high school students at Kyoto University Junior Campus 2015, on 13 September, 2015 of which the title is “Let’s think about global environmental issues with the international students”.

 

We would like to call for international students’ support especially of those who speak Japanese. You will receive compensation working as a Teaching Assistant.

 

We expect about 6-8 participation of international students.

Junior Campus Outline

Date and Time: 13 September, 2015 (Sunday)

14:00 – 15:30 First Seminar

16:00 – 17:30 Second Seminar

Location: GSGES Lecture Room 202, Kyoto University Yoshida Campus

Seminar Program:

14:00 – 14:05 / 16:00 – 16:05 Introduction

14:05 – 14:35 / 16:05 – 16:35 Presentation by international students

(10 min. Presentation and 5 min. Q&A × 2 groups)

14:35 – 15:15 / 16:35 – 17:15 Group discussion

15:15 – 15:30 / 17:15 – 17:30 Group Presentation and Wrap-up

 

International students will be divided into 2 groups by their home region (e.g., South East Asia, South Asia, Central & South America, etc.) or research themes. Each group is requested to have a 10 minutes presentation to introduce your home country and your research at Kyoto. Then, international students and junior high school students make discussions for each group. Please be noted that the session will be carried in Japanese with English translation.

              1st rehearsal on 21-24 July

              2nd rehearsal at the beginning of September
